Enoh bails out Cameroon

Slovaks shoot themselves in the foot

Eyong Enoh grabbed a late equaliser for Cameroon in their latest pre-World Cup friendly against Slovakia. A contest between two sides destined for South Africa this summer ended 1-1, with Kamil Kopunek having opened the scoring early on. It took just six minutes for the Slovaks to break the deadlock, as they burst out of the blocks in the Austria-staged contest. Kopunek was afforded far too much space in midfield and he was able to crash home a stinging drive from distance. Cameroon were offering little threat at this stage, with Slovakia able to easily nullify their attacking unit. The absence of talismanic frontman Samuel Eto'o was hardly helping their cause, with the Inter Milan striker having hinted that he could pull out of the squad following criticism from Indomitable Lions legend Roger Milla. The African aces were able to haul themselves level, though, seven minutes from time when Enoh calmly slotted home after some uncharacteristically sloppy defending. His effort was Cameroon's first in their last three outings, proving Paul Le Guen still has much to work on before the World Cup finals get underway.
