Honours even between play-off chasers

Port Vale battled back from a goal down to claim a 1-1 draw with fellow play-off hopefuls Aldershot. Dean Morgan fired the visitors ahead in the 63rd minute, but Vale substitute Sean Rigg grabbed an equaliser to ensure the spoils were shared. Dean Morgan went close for Aldershot with a curling effort, but Vale's Marc Richards wasted the best first-half opportunity when he headed Tommy Fraser's corner over from six yards. Aldershot turned up the heat at the start of the second-half and went close on several occasions before Dean Morgan broke the deadlock, turning Gareth Owen to sprint clear and place his shot into an empty net after coolly taking the ball round the goalkeeper. Marvin Morgan almost doubled the visitors' advantage when his shot was well saved by Martin, but Vale levelled against the run of play in the 72nd minute. Richards' pass sent Rigg on his way and the substitute netted a perfectly placed left-foot shot in off the far post as Jamie Young narrowed the angle.
