Siena hit back 20 minutes later through former Middlesbrough striker Massimo Maccarone.

Roma, meanwhile, went 2-0 up thanks to a first-half goal from defender Christian Panucci and a 67th-minute strike from Daniele De Rossi and, while
Atalanta grabbed a late consolation through Gianpaolo Bellini, Luciano Spalletti's men held on for the win to keep the pressure on Inter.

Empoli are in deep trouble too, after second-half goals from Edgar Barreto and Nicola Amoruso gave
Reggina a home win.
Catania were unfortunate not to claim three points in their game away at
Juventus.
Jorge Martinez had given them a shock lead just after half-time, but Alessandro Del Piero gave the Old Lady a point with just one minute of normal time to spare. Catania will now need a point in their final game to make sure they survive.
