Ward open to Gill move

Bristol Rovers manager John Ward has confirmed Matt Gill is free to make a loan move away from The Memorial Stadium.

The former Norwich midfielder, back after a long spell on the sidelines with injury, was left out of the matchday squad that drew 1-1 with Southend on Friday and Ward confirmed Gill's opportunities will be limited. "Matt's not injured, I just didn't involve him in the squad," he told the Bristol Evening Post. "I've got no problems with Matt, it's just that he has come back from injury at a time when I have a lot of central midfielders available. "I've told him that I think it will be difficult for him to push into the first team at the moment, so I've given him the option to think about that situation (a loan move) and we will see where we are with that in the next few days."
