Port Vale have handed a trial to former Morecambe midfielder Chris Shuker, who has already played a reserve team match for the Valiants.
Former Manchester City trainee Shuker has also played for Barnsley and Tranmere. The 29-year-old played the full 90 minutes as Vale beat Burton 2-1 and showed some promising early touches as he linked up with loanee Shane O'Connor. Shuker is without a club after he was released by Morecambe at the end of last season.
