Forward set to miss first two UEFA Champions League group stage games
Werder Bremen forward Martin Harnik is facing four weeks on the sidelines, after tearing ligaments in his foot.
The 20-year-old lasted just nine minutes after coming on as a substitute during Austria's 0-0 draw against Japan.
He is likely to miss Bremen's first two UEFA Champions League group stage games against Real Madrid and Olympiakos.
"He will be out for no more than three or four weeks," Austria coach Josef Hickersberger confirmed.
Hickersberger has called up Rapid Vienna striker Erwin Hoffer, to replace Harnik for Tuesday's friendly against Chile.
