Hartlepool and Stevenage played out a lifeless goalless draw in a game of few chances at Victoria Park.
The blank leaves Stevenage a point shy of the play-offs,while Hartlepool have now drawn their last two games 0-0. Hartlepool's best chance came in the 27th minutes when Andy Monkhouse and Evan Horwood linked up well on the left side and the latter's cross found Jack Baldwin at the far post. His header was directed back across Chris Day, but the Stevenage goalkeeper stretched to palm the ball away. Luke Freeman headed over for the visitors five minutes later, meeting Laurie Wilson's right-wing cross after Pools had failed to clear their defensive lines. Two minutes into the second half and Marc Laird's low shot was kept out by goalkeeper Scott Flinders, while the closest Hartlepool came was when substitute James Poole sent a dipping volley which forced a fine save out of Day.
