Daly sees red but Chesterfield can't capitalise

Chesterfield's play-off hopes suffered another blow as they failed to see off 10-man Bradford City in a game which finished 1-1. The Spireites were left with just one victory in their last 10 games after Bradford snatched a late equaliser. Chesterfield were saved early on when skipper Ian Breckin managed to block a goal-bound effort from Gareth Evans. Then Bradford's Leon Osbourne headed wide from six yards out. Chesterfield winger Ishmel Demontagnac caused problems for the Bradford defence with his trickery down the right. Demontagnac eventually broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute when he collected a flick-on from Jack Lester and kept his cool to fire home. Bradford were reduced to 10 men in the 71st minute when substitute Omar Daley was shown a straight red card for lashing out at Chesterfield's Dan Gray. The blow seemed to spur on Bradford and four minutes later they drew level. A quick throw from Michael Flynn caught out the Chesterfield defence and Evans ran through to score with a clinical finish. Chesterfield threw everything forward in the closing minutes and Mark Allatt almost snatched a winner but his late effort was pushed over the bar by Bradford keeper Jon McLaughlin.
